Front and Center

AAAaahhhhhhh my dear Broncos fans - What a start we have had. A 08/09 season that has graced us with its excitement, triumph and pride - all things that are not lost. This town homes a population of true fans and an organization that has honest appreciation of the support.

So here we are at the beginning of another season; a season that has us at 3 and 1 and many more exciting wins to come. I can’t tell you how amazing it is to have the best seats in the entire house. One of the countless surreal things about being a Denver Broncos Cheerleaders it the fact that we get to watch every single home game play front and center. Sometimes a bit too close as you get to bob and weave the players as the play extends the bounds, the refs and their watchful eye or the camera men that charge down the field after each and every play. It is a dangerous world out there on those sidelines…and I can tell you that we enjoy every second of it.

There is a love for the game of football that comes with being a Denver Broncos Cheerleader and honestly it wouldn’t be the same experience without our fans. We can hear and feel your excitement and so can the players. Your voices do not go unheard, your spirit is constantly recognized and your passion is a major piece of each game day. After five years on this team you continue to impress me. Thank you for your enthusiasm and the life you pump into this organization- it is a continuing inspiration to us and to your players.

When Perkins is imprisoned, the police unwittingly unleash his followers on a small town and they've only got one thing on their mind: "Kill for Mr. Perkins." Where Are They Now - Courtney Guttenberg (Lockwood)

2000 - 2003 Denver Nuggets Dancer Courtney Lockwood has come along way from her days on the court at the Pepsi Center. Her last online dancer bio states:

Years as Nuggets Dancer: 2nd
Favorite Color: Baby blue
Best asset: My dedication
Favorite TV Show: ER

Courtney is a fulltime student who would like to one day be a high school counselor. Some of her interests include snowboarding, reading and writing. Courtney is also a dance instructor specializing in jazz and hip-hop. In the future, she would like to travel and start a family.

Her dedication is definitely her best asset, she started her own dance company, an entertainment company and has the family she always wanted. Most people now know her as Courtney Guttenberg, a brunette and owner of Pure Dance Co. and So Fine Entertainment.

Courtney is no stranger to the stage as she began her dance career at four years old. She began taking classes in California and moved to Colorado in 1992. She continued her training and was an active member of competitive teams up until the age of 17. She has had the oportunity to train with some of the top choreographers in the world. Courtney's professional experience began in 2000 when she became a member of the Denver Nuggets Dancers. She was part of the Denver Nuggets Dancers for three years earning the title of Assistant to the Director in her third year. Currently Courtney is the Director of an Elite Dance Troupe here in Colorado.

Courtney has been teaching since 1998 and knew instantly that was what she was meant to do. She believes there is nothing better than being able to take your passion and share it with others. She has been recognized as a teacher including a featured article in the Hub Newspaper in Littleton, Colorado. Courtney has many strong philosophies about the role and importance of a teacher! A couple ways that Courtney incorporates these into her classes are:

*Developing a curriculum and music content that is age and level appropriate.

*Teaching class sizes that allow her to give one on one attention to each dancer.

So Fine Entertainment provides models and go go dancers for Denver's hottest events. So Fine hit the Denver scene in November of 2007, Courtney quotes on her Facebook page:

"I have taken my love for dance and started my own Entertainment Company in October of 2007, SO FINE ENTERTAINMENT! What is that you ask? My team consists of Go Go Dancers/Models. I have incredible dancers and beautiful women on my team! My mission is to provide talented, classy and professional dance entertainment. I pride myself on recruiting and maintaining those who have the entire package; looks, dance training and drive! You can catch us at local hot spots such as Sutra (12th and Lincoln) and Funky Buddha (8th and Lincoln). I'm always auditioning..so let me know if you are interested!"

MHSM Girl in Your Corner - Candice Vecchiarelli

Name: Candice Vecchiarelli
Age: 21
Profession: Dancer for the Denver Outlaws, Student

What’s been the best part of dancing for the Outlaws?
Dancing at Invesco field. Even though the stadium isn’t sold out, we’ve had over 20,000 people come watch a game. Plus the Fourth of July game! All of us girls sit and watch the fireworks show from the field. This past July, we even got to see a small fire on top of Invesco Field from the fireworks!

When you first heard of this opportunity, had you ever really watched or knew about outdoor lacrosse?
No, actually I had never even seen a single game of lacrosse. The first time I actually watched lacrosse was my first game as a Denver Outlaws dancer.

The lacrosse guys have a reputation for being fun guys, very fan friendly and ultra-accessible. Give an example of this.
I actually didn’t get to spend much time with the guys this season. I know they are all really great guys and they do a lot for their fans and the community.

Describe the perfect date.
I’d say a glass of wine and a great conversation.

What do you find appealing in a guy?
I am constantly laughing and having fun, so I’d have to say someone who has a great sense of humor, confidence, and someone who doesn’t take himself to serious all the time.

Lots of kids attend the Outlaws games. Kid’s say the darndest things; tell us your funniest “kid story.”
When I was signing autographs after the game, a 12-year-old boy came up to me and asked if I would kiss him on the cheek because he had never been kissed before. I asked him what his mom would think of that, and he said that we could start slow, be boyfriend/girlfriend and work our way up to kissing. All I could do was laugh. Kids definitely say the darndest things

Outside of lacrosse, who’s your favorite athlete?
Although he didn’t win the last Wimbledon, I would have to say Roger Federer. The man has won five Wimbledons! And the 2008 Wimbledon was the best tennis match I have ever seen. It was incredible.

What is your favorite team outside of lacrosse?
Easily the Denver Broncos! I love watching football!

What is your favorite movie (and why)?
I love watching movies! I can’t choose just one but I love romantic and action movies.

What are the top three songs in your iPod?
“All I Need” by Shawn McDonald, “Live Like You Were Dying” by Tim McGraw and “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis

If you could drive any car, it would be…
Actually, I’m really content with my Four-Runner, Chi-Chi. But if something did happen to her, I would love to drive a white Porsche Cayenne.

Everyone has a celebrity crush. Who is yours?
Nick Lachey. If I would’ve met him when I was younger, I probably would have asked him the same thing that 12-year-old kid asked me.

You ladies do a lot of community service. What has been your favorite thus far?
I love all the opportunities that we get to serve in the community! I think my favorite this year was when we went to Children’s Hospital to perform and hang out with the kids. It was an incredible experience. I left there so touched; I began to understand how precious life truly is and how much I take every little thing I get to do for granted. Those kids are so strong and I think they made a bigger impact on me then I did on them. I was so moved that day. After we had finished there, I got in my car and cried until I got home.

Where Are They Now - Celina Nightengale

Celina Nightengale grew up in Denver, Colorado and has danced her whole life. Celina trained with various dance academies including Hill Academy of Dance, Cleo Parker Robinson, Colorado Ballet, and Motion Underground. Celina attended the University of Denver and received her B.A. in Communications with a minor in Marketing.

While attending DU she danced for the University of Denver Dance Team and was a member of Motion Underground’s Lyrical Company. She also danced professionally as a member of the Colorado Mammoth Wild Bunch of which she served as captain for two years. Some of Celina’s other performances have included dancing for Chingy’s opening act DC, and dancing for the half time show of the 2005 NBA All-Star game.

Celina received a scholarship from the Edge Performing Arts Center that brought her to Los Angeles to further her career in dance. Celina recently signed with the dance agency Bloc and is looking forward to continuing success in her career.

Choreography Resource

Okay guys, if you haven't already, you HAVE to check out JigTV. com and see what its all about.

We are helping out a friend, here in Denver, who has created a ridiculously cool dance website called JigTV. com.

In a nutshell, its 'Dance on Demand'. Choreography by AMAZING choreographers broken down for the sake of teaching or using it. Some of the people on board with her for the project are: Brian Friedman, Blake McGrath, Tony Testa, Suzi Taylor, Dee Caspary, Shane Sparks, Jason Parsons, Many Moore, Nick Bass, Nick Lazzarini, Terry Beeman, Travis Wall... etc, etc, etc.

Go to JigTV.com and let me know what you think. And, better yet, please please please spread the word via MySpace, FaceBook, email, phone, word of mouth... however! On top of their JigTV. com website, they are also on MySpace... add them as a friend! We appreciate your help!
