Photo Shoots and Mexico!

We had our headshots last week with our amazing photographer Rob Hawthorne. Rob has a stunning portfolio and I love his work. Headshots are always very fun — Sedrique did our makeup and we had our hair styled by Antoine Du Chez. It’s good preparation for our trip to Mexico for the calendar shoot which is rapidly approaching. The cheerleaders and I leave this weekend for Mexico and we are all looking forward to the trip.

The Denver Broncos Cheerleaders have been going to Mexico for several years to shoot their annual swimsuit calendar. I’ve had several questions about the calendar so I am going to try to answer them here. We actually do not get to choose (or keep) the swimsuits. Our directors and sometimes alumni cheerleaders help to pick out the suits. I know they work with several outside companies to get the suits, but I am unfamiliar with the exact process. However, I do know that they do a wonderful job and the suits look great on all the girls.

A question came up regarding how the cover and how the specific months are chosen. To be honest, I don’t know. The directors choose the swimsuits, the specific shots, and who gets what month — they are the brains behind the operation. The calendar release is a surprise to us as well. We know some specifics about the shots, but we don’t know who’s on the cover or which specific shot they’ve chosen for each month. The whole process is very exciting.

This year alumni cheerleader Holly Flaherty will be our stylist. She’s done quite a few calendars in her days (six calendars for the six years she has been on the team) so she’s got lots of helpful advice for us. Holly is also our personal trainer. Her company is HB Fitness and she meets with us several times a week to help us with our workouts.

This will be my last entry before I head out to Mexico. I’ll let you know how it goes!!!
