Colorado 14ers Set to Host Dance Team Tryouts August 4th



The Colorado 14ers basketball team of the NBA Development League will be holding dance team auditions for the 2007-08 season on Saturday, August 4 with registration beginning at 8 a.m. (auditions begin at 9 a.m.) at the Broomfield Event Center. The Colorado 14ers is the affiliate team of the Denver Nuggets, New Jersey Nets and Toronto Raptors.

The 14ers Dance Team will perform dance and cheer routines during all home games and will participate in various community events throughout the season. Candidates will be evaluated on a variety of attributes including physical fitness, dance ability, personality, energy and poise. There will be two dance rounds and an interview process. The final group of dancers will be expected to provide energetic, entertaining, family friendly and crowd encouraging presentations.

"The 14ers Dance Team is a very important part of the 14ers organization. They help make it a fun and energetic atmosphere and they are a link to the community," said Jennifer Reifman, Director of Game Entertainment and Community Relations.

Candidates are required to provide a picture of themselves (No smaller than 5x7 and of you only), a dance resume and references (at least 2 professional). All styles of dance knowledge is recommended, but not required. Participants should also block out the entire day as there is no specific time for the auditions to end.

Candidates need to wear a two piece dance outfit (Dance shorts, or briefs. No dance pants.) Dance shoes must be worn (Jazz or Boots, must be non-skid). Hair and makeup should be done as if in performance.
