Open Registration to Join the Belles Performance Team Going on Now!

The Belles Performance Team is Colorado's premier independent professional dance team. Since 2003, they have been performing nationally for over 1.5 million people and donating over 2000 hours to the community each year. They are a year round performance troupe, their positions are volunteer, with opportunities for compensation, with a focus on community involvement.

The Belles Performance Team no longer holds auditions to join their organization. Several times a year, they hold an open application and interview process to select new and qualified members to the team. Their number one goal is finding professional, outgoing, and beautiful women with a passion for dance and entertainment that will continue to uphold their 1st class reputation in the Colorado community and be committed and personable team members. All levels of dance experience are considered. There are no size/weight requirements for the team, current members are anywhere from a size 4 - size 10, but they must look fit and proportional. There are also no age limits for the team (must be 18 to apply), past members have been as young as 40 years of age.

Their application process is as follows:

1. Entertainment Resume. This should include dance and cheer experience (teams, levels, classes, training, conventions, prep classes, competitions, auditions, dance styles and skills currently able to demonstrate), community service, and any promotions and/or pageant experience. Please also include personal information such as height, weight, clothing sizes (numeric and alphabetic - size 8 medium top), and measurements (fullest part of bust, waist at belly button, hip fullest part of bottom).

2. Cover Letter. Why should you be considered for a BPT dancer position? What do they need to know about you, your life, your goals? Why will you make a great community representative of their organization? Similar to a cover letter for a job.

3. Current headshot and full body photograph. Please be smiling in the headshot, hair down and done, in what you consider to be performance level makeup and the full body should have you in a maximum of a sports bra top and 3 inch inseam shorts. You do not need to submit a swimwear shot, but they do need to see your physique as they have many uniforms that reveal some part of the body (midriff, legs, etc.) at a time. These do not have to be professional but should be of good digital quality and clarity and are non-returnable.

Since they have moved the format of our program to non-audition status, they must ensure they have an amazing group of ladies that work well together as a team with a common goal of upholding their traditions and providing top-notch entertainment in the community. Their focus is on recruiting the most friendly and dedicated of women, not necessarily the most talented of dancers...because they have a proven track record of teaching dance to over 250 women in the past 5 years. They plan to only move forward with women interested in continuing the classy and approachable image the Belles are best known in the community for.

You can email these items to bellesperfteam@aol.com or mail them to: The Belles Performance Team, PO Box 1022, Castle Rock, CO 80104.

Once the complete application has been submitted, materials will be reviewed and you will be contacted for a face to face interview. After the interview, an invitation to join the organization may be extended to applicants. To apply does not guarantee an invitation to join. It is recommended that applications are received by January 9, 2009.

All applicants will receive:

1) 12 day spa pass to Planet Beach Contempo Spa, official tanning and skincare wellness partner of the BPT
2) 7 day fitness pass to 24 Hour Fitness, official training and fitness partner of the BPT
3) 20% off pass to Juno Salon, official hairstylist of the BPT
4) $50 microdermabrasion with european facial pass to Aesthetic Nurse Specialists, official skincare partner of the BPT

Former Nuggets Dancer/Broncos Cheerleader survives cancer during pregnancy

9News.com Video

DENVER - Ask anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer to tell you the day they learned they had cancer. They will know the date. They may even remember the exact time they received the phone call.

Their family and friends remember too. Time stops and every day that follows is a day after cancer.

For Lisa Pevateaux that day came after one of the best days of her life. It was just a couple of days after her doctor visit to confirm her second pregnancy.

Suddenly, Lisa and her husband Chris were visiting oncologists and making decisions as to how to save two lives. One oncologist suggested Lisa terminate her pregnancy. Others disagreed.

Dr. Virginia Borges of the University of Colorado-Denver gave Lisa the chance to fight her cancer and give birth to a healthy child. Lisa says Borges gave her hope, telling her, "You're not dying, this is manageable. I have two patients not only one, we will treat both of you."

After surgery, during the second trimester of her pregnancy, Lisa started chemotherapy.

She approached the day with great optimism, convinced that she would not suffer with negative side effects and focus solely on her baby and her ability to defeat cancer.

Unfortunately, nothing could prepare Lisa and Chris for the emotions they would feel watching the red colored chemotherapy drugs dripping into the intravenous tube in Lisa's arm.

Chris felt helpless.

"I vividly remember when we were sitting there and she was about to get her first round of chemo, and I said, 'If there's anything I can do to get that chemo for her, if they could just give it to me,'" he said.

During these terrible days they held on to hope, celebrating every pregnancy visit and ultrasound. Lisa stayed healthy too. She worked out Navitas Cancer Rehabilitation Center and continued to operate her dance studio Elite Dance Academy in Broomfield.

Just a couple of weeks before giving birth Lisa, Chris and their almost 2-year-old son John David walked in Denver's Race for the Cure.

That afternoon Lisa was on the field at INVESCO Field at Mile High to accept a large donation for Komen for the Cure breast cancer foundation. Lisa is a former Denver Broncos cheerleader and Denver Nuggets dancer.

On Oct. 12, 2007, Chase Christopher Pevateaux arrived, weighing 6 pounds 6 ounces.

Lisa calls him her "Angel baby." You see it was her OB-GYN who discovered the lump in her breast during that pregnancy visit.

Chase's birth marked a halfway point for Lisa in her cancer treatment. Just two weeks after delivery she needed a second series of chemotherapy treatments, the kind that can't be administered during pregnancy. Reconstructive surgery followed the chemo.

Every doctor's visit since has been one to remember. Lisa is cancer free and Chase is doing great. In fact, he's quite a bit bigger than his big brother was at the same age.

"Both of the kids are thriving, and Chase is the epitome of beauty. He's healthy and I'm healthy," said Lisa.

In one year's time, Lisa has gone from survivor to co-survivor, by offering her support to other women fighting cancer during pregnancy.

"There were a couple of times when I was going through treatment that I didn't really feel like I had somebody to turn to and it was kind of such a unique situation. Really, there are a lot of people out there who are going through this. I'm supporting people all over the country," Lisa said.

Ms. Planet Beach Colorado Rita Case Blogs

Ms. Planet Beach Colorado, Rita Case, shares her experience at the International Spokesmodel competition, held this year at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Wow! What a BLAST!! As a member of the Belles Performance Team it was my honor to represent Planet Beach, one of my favorite sponsors as Ms. Planet Beach Denver, CO at their International Spokesmodel competition. The pageant was held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. Over 65 women competed for the $100,000 prize and the opportunity to open their own Planet Beach franchise.

I felt like a rockstar as I was greeted by a limo and TV crews upon my arrival at the airport. During the week I participated in several photoshoots and filmed interviews to be apart of the "Making of Ms. Planet Beach." The show will air in early 2009. Be sure to look for it!

After a week of rehearsals and preliminary competitions I was excited for the final show to arrive. Every contestant was able to model her costume representing their idea of Rock and Glamour (the theme of the pageant), as well as her swimsuit and a designer fashion outfit.

In the end I was left out of the final 12, but I was honored to have placed in the top 10 in the online People's Choice Awards.

The highlight of the evening for me was receiving the "Best YouTube" award. All of the contestants were asked to create a video describing their favorite Planet Beach Contempo Spa experience. I of course couldn't name just one, and had to mention the aqua massage bed, the Lumiere facial, the hydration station, oh, and of course I can't forget the Mystic Tan! You can check out my video on the Planet Beach website www.planetbeach.com. A very special thank you goes out to Cher Fox, Owner of the Belles Performance Team, and the current Ms. Planet Beach Gen X Colorado, for all of her help in making the video.
